The Provisional Government didnt waste any time in persuading the President of the U.S. to officially annex Hawaii into a territory. This was vile because there was no policy or authorization from congress to overthrow the fay of Hawaii. There was no provision on a lower floor U.S. law that would oblige the U.S. to support a lawless disorder in an allied country like Hawaii, and there was no legal justification for sending in the Marines to back up the rebels. This was why the U.S. government formally apologized to Hawaii for its role in the insurrection after the Blount Report was published. The queen who was overthrown was Queen Liliuokalani.







Hawaiian Queen Liliuokalani, was born on September 2, 1838 as Lydia Liliu Kamakaeha. She was adopted at birth by Abner Paki and his wife, Laura Konia who was King Kamehameha the Firsts granddaughter.
