E preciseone has their own viewpoint on gambling or even a standpoint on a particular sport. Although I understand there are many issues surrounding sports I would rather focus on what I believe the virtues are of sports. There are four virtues which I consider to be vitally significant in the foundation of sport and they are courage, temperance, justice and wisdom. These four virtues can be seen in a movie that is called “Glory Road” and that’s how I want to illustrate them. It is an American film say by James Gartner. The film is based on a true story galvanic pileing with the events leading to the 1966 NCAA Mens part I Basket junkie Championship, in which the late wear thin Haskins (Josh Lucas), transport coach of the Texas Western College (now the University of Texas at El Paso) led a police squad with an all-black starting lineup, a graduation in NCAA history. The characters in this film show a great deal of the first virtue, courage. For example, Coach Don Haskins was brought into a situation to become a coach of a small town basketball team in El Paso, Texas. The community was close and not very welcoming to advanced comers and changes as well as had a lot of race discrimination against African Americans. Coach Haskins had new ideas for the basketball team and the townspeople resent his ideas and methods.
Coach Don did not have many financial resources to recruit the close to coveted high school athletes, so he decides to occur the best players in the country regardless of race to striving a team that can compete for a case championship. In this sense, Coach Don shows a great deal of courage. The other courageous characters are the players who in this case are the African Americans that Coach Haskins recruited from all over the country. They possess a lot of talent, but are very raw when it comes to organize college basketball with its greater focus on defense and ball distribution.
