The role of the mental wellness nurse is one that has evolved at heart living memory from that of a comparatively unspecialised wellness worker, with little autonomy, in the Asylums of the UK, to a highly trained and specialised semi-autonomous worker who is capable of providing effective healthcare in a variety of settings.
