Alexander Pope wrote this immortal rime An Essay on Man between 1732 &
1734. Pope aforethought(ip) this poetic essay as the center section of a proposed frame of
ethics that was intended to be compiled with a larger piece of poetic works but
did not live to see its completion. This poetic essay begins by offering a vision of
a world that was ultimately ordered and included the space in which humans can
lead happy lives, so enormous as they stay within the space allotted to them by paragon.
Pope articulates this space as the Great Chain of Being. Popes numbers reinforces
his ideas about this twist, while the content of the poem neatly reflects a
predominant eighteen-century view about a fundamental order of the universe and
mans consecrate within it.
This poem imagines the chain as a structure of the popular beliefs of the
eighteenth century theory of the Chain of Being. This of hightail it postulates all
living things, including globe and angels. Plus all of these living things

Human beings being
