Christine Rodriguez January 17, 2011 Jackson pollock 7-4 Jackson Pollock was born on January 28, 1912 in Cody, Wyoming to Stella McClure and LeRoy McCoy Pollock as their fifth and youngest son. Even though he was born in Cody, Wyoming at eleven months he moved to and was raised in Arizona and California for the next sixteen years. In 1928 they moved to Los Angeles, where Pollock was enrolled at manual of arms artifices High School. While at school he came under the influence of Frederick John de St. Vrain Schwankovsky, a tonalityer and illustrator of that time. Schwankovsky gave Pollock some basic training in drawing and motion-picture show. In the fall of 1930 Pollock followed his brother Charles, who left home to cultivation art in 1922, to New York City, where he enrolled at the Art Students League under his brothers teacher Thomas hart Benton.

There he studied life drawing and painting with Benton for the next two and one-half years, leaving in the wee months of 1933. For the next two years Pollock lived in poverty, firstborn with Charles and then by the fall of 1934, with his brother Sanford. He would apportion an apartment in Greenwich Village with Sanford and his wife until 1942. Pollocks art style that he was famous for was abstract expressionism. In 1947 Pollock first started using the process of pouring paint onto very large canvases. He used to do this in stages, often alternating weeks of painting with weeks of thinking thoroughly out front he finished a canvas. By doing this it allowed him to be capable to record the force and scope of his physical gesture. At the time, he said these abstract movements veiled the image.
